How to Use Your Word Processor

Introduction

Your word processor can be used for the most basic—and essential—tasks: entering text, deleting text, copying and pasting text and images, and saving and printing documents. These critical activities are supported by virtually all word processors. Many word processors provide additional tools for working with documents. Among other functions, you can use your word processor to format and design your document, to review and revise, and to check spelling and grammar. This research guide discusses basic and advanced functions found in leading word processing programs. To use this guide, use the table of contents to the left.
