How to Search the WebConducting a Government Sites SearchMany government agencies and institutions have turned to the Web as their primary means of distributing their publications. FirstGov, sponsored by the U.S. government, allows you to search the federal government's network of online resources. Government Printing Office Access provides publication information about print documents and links to those publications when they are available online. Sites such as FedStats and FedWorld give access to a wide range of government-related materials. In addition to these specialized government Web sites, you can locate government publications through many Web directories, such as Yahoo! You can find a list of government documents search sites in the Bedford Research Room's Links pages. In this demonstration, we'll conduct a search using FirstGov.
