How to Search the WebConducting a Search of the Deep WebMany specialized topics are addressed through databases or database-supported Web sites that, although accessible through the Web, are not indexed by conventional Web search sites, such as Google or AllTheWeb. These sites are referred to collectively as the Deep Web or the Invisible Web because they are not easily found by the search technologies used by leading search sites. (For more information on the Deep Web, read "The Deep Web" at http://library.albany.edu/internet/deepweb.html.) A number of search sites specialize in searches of the Deep Web. You can find a list of Deep Web search sites in the Bedford Research Room's Links pages. In this demonstration, we'll conduct a search using Complete Planet.
