How to Search the WebBrowsing Directory CategoriesWeb directories allow you to browse lists of Web sites by clicking on general topics, such as Health or Education, and then successively narrowing your search by clicking on subcategories of topics. For example, if you are interested in the impact of education reform on Colorado state schools, you might begin your search of the Yahoo! Web directory by clicking on the Education directory, then on the Reform or Legislation subdirectories, and so on. By clicking on a series of categories and subcategories, you can view information that has been identified by the editors of the directory as relevant to a specific topic area. In this demonstration, you will browse the Yahoo! Web directory. This browsing process can be used with other leading Web directories, such as the Open Directory Project and the Google directory.
