Arts & Humanities Citation Index (Web of Science—Institute for Scientific Information)

A multidisciplinary database that contains sources from 1975 to the present. Contains over 2 million entries from over 1,000 of the leading arts and humanities journals. Allows user to easily limit search to a specific time-frame.

FRANCIS (INIST-CNRS, available through SilverPlatter)

Emphasis is mostly on social science and humanities sources, but also includes law, heath, and technology. Entries from 1984 to present from over 3,500 journals. Indexes books, periodicals, theses, and reports. Most include citations and abstracts.

Humanities Abstracts (Wilson, available through OCLC FirstSearch)

This database includes abstracts of book reviews, original fiction, articles, and play reviews. Contains sources covering all humanities-related topics. Over 400,000 entries from 1984 to present, with abstracts from 1994 to present.
