She studied creative writing and literature at the College of Saint Rose and at the University of Iowa, taught college for five years, then returned to graduate school for a Ph.D. in interpretation (performance studies) at Northwestern University. She is on the faculty of the Writing Program of Ithaca College, New York. For eight years she coordinated the Ithaca Community Poets and directed the national Feminist Women’s Writing Workshops. Her poems have appeared in numerous magazines (such as Yankee, Nimrod, South Coast Poetry Journal, Hollins Critic, Seneca Review, and Louisiana Literature), in literature anthologies, and in numerous published collections, including Belly Words (1994). |
